Located 40 minutes southwest of Nairobi, in Karen, is the Giraffe Center. It’s roughly $10-$12 for a non-resident adult and $5 for a child and well worth it. That price will get you entrance and a small bowl of food for the giraffes.

You will be greeted by a couple of the older giraffes as soon as you enter on the boardwalk-they are very eager to fulfill your dreams of hand feeding them! Use caution, a couple of them will head butt. They are all ages, so even the young ones will come up and try to stretch their necks far enough to get the food.

Along the boardwalk are signs with information, as well as docents who will answer any questions you might have. It can get pretty crowded, but there is not a time limit, so practice patience. Once off the boardwalk, you can visit the gift shop or grab a small bite and drink from the cafe. It’s a visit you won’t soon forget.
