I had the privilege of meeting Carlos, the founder of Foundation of Hope Kibera, on my birthday this year. He started the organization to help youth in Kibera by giving them something positive to focus on and learn new skills that might help them find employment. They raise chickens and sell eggs, sell their own artwork, have a football club, and DANCE!

I was treated to some of the younger ones doing traditional native dances for me. I toured their facility, saw the chickens, wanted to buy every piece of art they had, and participated in the dancing.

The dance teams perform locally, but have also toured internationally. It is an amazing organization and I hope you will check them out.
